Commercial and Industrial Facility Painting in Ontario

Heavy-duty industrial coatings for warehouses, processing plants, agricultural facilities, and commercial roofs across Southern Ontario. Trusted since 1975.

Industrial Coatings That Hold Up Under Real Operating Conditions

Commercial and industrial buildings don’t get the luxury of a residential paint job. They take chemical exposure, wash-downs, vehicle traffic, exhaust, salt, weather, and continuous wear. A coating that fails in two years isn’t a paint job — it’s a recurring expense and a maintenance headache.

North Pro Barn Painting has been applying industrial-grade coatings to Ontario’s commercial and agricultural facilities since 1975. We work on warehouses, food and grain processing plants, machine sheds, equestrian arenas, dairy and poultry operations, retail and rental commercial buildings, and the heavy-duty roofs that cover all of them. Our crews show up with the right equipment, the right materials, and the experience to finish the job on schedule and on budget.

If you operate a commercial or industrial facility in Southern Ontario and you need painting, recoating, or roof restoration, this page is for you.

What We Coat

Our commercial and industrial painting service covers a wide range of building types and surfaces. Common projects include:

Warehouses and Distribution Facilities

Exterior and interior coatings for steel, concrete, and metal cladding. We work with high-traffic buildings where downtime costs money, and we schedule accordingly.

Food, Grain, and Agricultural Processing Plants

Coatings rated for the chemical exposure, wash-down requirements, and food-safety standards of processing facilities. We've completed multi-year projects on grain operations, dairy processors, and feed mills across Southern Ontario.

Machine Sheds, Drive Sheds, and Equipment Storage

Built tough for the buildings that house equipment worth more than the structure itself. Industrial polyurethane coatings stand up to exhaust, fluid spills, and daily wear.

Equestrian Arenas and Riding Facilities

Interior and exterior painting that handles dust, humidity, and constant horse traffic. Light-reflective interior coatings can meaningfully improve riding conditions.

Commercial Roofs

Standalone roof painting and elastomeric coating for commercial buildings, processing facilities, and large agricultural structures. Detailed in the section below.

Grain Silos, Storage Bins, and Tanks

High-access industrial coating work using boom lifts and proper rigging. Rust prevention and weatherproofing for assets that often go decades between coating cycles.

Retail and Rental Commercial Exteriors

Curb appeal matters for tenant retention and customer traffic. We refresh commercial exteriors with durable, fade-resistant finishes that hold their colour through Ontario summers and winters.

Commercial Roof Painting and Coating

Commercial roof restoration is one of the most cost-effective ways to extend the life of an industrial building. A properly applied elastomeric or polyurethane coating can add 10 to 15 years to a metal or membrane roof at a fraction of replacement cost.

Our commercial roof painting service includes:

  • Full surface assessment and rust mapping
  • Pressure washing and surface preparation
  • Spot rust treatment and seam resealing
  • Screw replacement and fastener tightening
  • Primer application where required
  • Two-coat industrial elastomeric or polyurethane finish
  • Reflective coating options for energy efficiency

For larger commercial roof projects, we work with project managers and facility owners to phase work around operations and minimize disruption.

  • Industrial polyurethane — for high-wear surfaces requiring chemical and abrasion resistance
  • Elastomeric coatings — for surfaces that flex with temperature, including metal roofs and panels
  • Acrylic urethane — for general commercial exterior work where colour retention matters
  • Rust-inhibiting primer systems — for any steel or iron substrate, especially older structures
  • Reflective roof coatings — for energy efficiency and reducing summer cooling load

We work primarily with Korzite, Sherwin-Williams, Cloverdale, Benjamin Moore, and Dulux industrial product lines. Specific product selection is part of every estimate.

Our Commercial Project Process

Commercial work runs differently than residential or single-barn projects. Here’s how we structure it.

Site Visit and Scope Assessment

A project lead walks the site with you, identifies the work scope, and discusses any operational constraints — shutdown windows, biosecurity, traffic patterns, deliveries.

Detailed Written Estimate

You receive a line-item quote covering surface preparation, materials, labour, equipment, mobilization, and timeline. No vague allowances.

Project Planning and Scheduling

Larger projects get a phased work plan. We work around your operation, not the other way around.

Mobilization and Setup

Boom lifts, scaffolding, sprayers, containment, and safety equipment arrive on schedule. All crews are WSIB-covered and fully insured.

Surface Preparation and Application

Pressure washing, sandblasting, rust treatment, and primer where required. Then sprayed application of the specified coating system, applied to manufacturer specifications.

Final Inspection and Sign-Off

You walk the project with our lead before we demobilize. Punch list items get addressed before we call the project complete.

SIMCOE COUNTY

Grain Processing Facility

We completed a full exterior and roof painting project for a grain processing facility in Simcoe County, applying a high-performance, weatherproof polyurethane coating designed to protect the structure for 10+ years. The system was selected to withstand constant exposure to moisture, temperature swings, and airborne debris common in agricultural environments.

Our team delivered a fast, efficient turnaround while coordinating closely with on-site operations to ensure zero downtime. The result is a clean, uniform finish that not only enhances the facility’s appearance but also provides long-term protection against wear, corrosion, and environmental damage. Our client praised the fast turnaround and professional finish.

FAQ

Commercial and Industrial Facility Painting — Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial projects vary enormously by size, substrate, and access. Smaller commercial exteriors start around $8,000 to $15,000. Large industrial recoats and commercial roof projects routinely run $50,000 to $250,000+. We provide detailed written estimates after a site visit.

Properly prepped and applied industrial polyurethane and elastomeric coatings typically last 10 to 15 years on Ontario buildings. Shorter on high-wear surfaces or in chemically aggressive environments. We discuss expected lifespan as part of every estimate.

Yes. We schedule shutdown windows, work in phases, handle biosecurity protocols, and coordinate with your facility manager. Most of our commercial work happens on operating sites.
